Change print size of pdf7/2/2023 It sets the compatibility to Acrobat 7 (PDF 1.6), employs high image resolutions, can handle non-CMYK color-managed workflows, and allows color data to be grayscale, RGB, CMYK, Lab, spot, and ICC-profile based. PDF/X-4:2008: Use this PDF/X preset when you want to maintain transparency. Choose this option for color-managed environments where you expect the printer to optimize color reproduction for the specific printing environment. This standard is more widely used in Europe than in North America. PDF/X-3:2002: This PDF/X preset is similar to PDF/X-1a except that it also supports embedded RGB profiles and color management. Image resolution settings are the same as the Press Quality preset. RGB images are converted to CMYK CMYK values are preserved. (Therefore, if you choose either of these choices, be sure to visit the Advanced panel and select the High Resolution Transparency Flattener Preset to retain the quality of your type and vectors.) PDF/X-1a supports CMYK and spot colors but doesn’t allow color management. PDF/X-1a:2001: Both PDF/X-1a:2001 and PDF/X-3:2002 presets set Acrobat 4 compatibility which flattens a file’s transparency. They’re also a good choice if you’re not sure what your printer wants. Many printers encourage their customers to use PDF/X. The next three presets follow PDF/X standards: To reduce printing errors and enable the successful exchange of files, Adobe worked with other vendors and professional users to develop the PDF/X standards-a family of ISO standards which are a subset of PDF designed for print workflows. Acrobat can handle live transparency and produce high-quality separations. This would be a good choice if your printer is sending this to an imagesetter or platesetter out of Acrobat Professional. RGB images are converted to CMYK CMYK values are unchanged. Color and grayscale images are downsampled to 300 ppi (considered an industry standard for commercial printing). Acrobat 5 compatibility is selected, and transparency isn’t flattened. Press Quality: Use this PDF preset for high-quality commercial printing where the printer is comfortable receiving a PDF with live transparency. Transparency is retained (Acrobat 5 compatibility is the default). Colors are left unchanged (they aren’t converted to another color space). Color and grayscale images are downsampled to 300 ppi. High Quality Print: Use this preset to create a PDF document for high-quality printing on desktop printers and proofers. One is aimed at general desktop printing, four are designed for commercial print workflows, and one for on-screen or web posting. In this post, we’ll just focus on the initial six presets and when to use them. Depending on the versions of each application, your PDF presets might not be compatible between them. All PDF presets are stored in a common location. If you export or save a PDF out of InDesign, for example, you’ll see the same choices in Photoshop and Illustrator. InDesign shares its PDF presets with many of the Creative Cloud desktop apps. (Those who are more expert can create their own presets, which we covered in a different post.) They group together all these choices into common workflows, and let us choose a preset which works best for what we’re currently doing. InDesign’s Export Adobe PDF (Print) dialog box presents us with seven panels worth of options.

Enigmo 27/2/2023 You’ll get reports from users about your installer not working, and you will struggle to figure out just what that problem is. And that’s where things get really, really icky. In addition, if you’re deploying for previous versions of Mac OS X, you have to live with all the bugs of the previous versions of the installers in order to be able to target them. It will frustrate the heck out of you, cause you to curse out loud, and generally cause you stress for days at a time until you solve your problem, and then you’ll never want to touch it again for fear of breakage. All other installer technology (VISE, FileStorm, I’m looking at you) falls flat in at least one of these areas, if not more.ĭespite that, however, one of the worst parts about Mac OS X software distribution that you’ll ever run into is creating an installer package for Apple’s Installer. There are numerous criteria - remote deployment, user familiarity, flexibility, scriptability - areas in which these two methods excel across the board. Any other method of installation is dead on arrival. Really, the only two types of software distribution for Mac OS X that are at all credible in my mind are 1) drag-and-drop installation, and 2) Apple’s installer technology. ClickToFlash, a Safari plug-in I worked on a few years ago, is one of those cases. But for certain types of software, certain things need to be in certain places, and drag-and-drop installation just doesn’t cut it. For software that is self-contained and doesn’t require living in any specific directory to run, it allows the user to be as neat or as messy with their hard drive hierarchy as they see fit. I have beaten all the levels and played through the entire game many times at this point and I still absolutely love it. It takes some getting used to but that's it. I don't see how many people have problems with the 3D interface. Update: The controls work fine and are easy to use. This is also the ONLY game from the App Store that I have ever played that doesn't have glitches. My only complaint is that the laser sound effects take away from the beautiful relaxing soundtrack music. I think this game is ageless and will always be an amazing and great game to play. It's a great relaxing game and is my favorite game on the App Store. It was made years ago and to this day it still looks like it's new because of how well done the game is. It has gorgeous graphics and it's physics engine is fantastic. For how old this game is, it blows me away. So years later I have now bought it's HD version for my ipad with retina display. But I never beat it and after upgrades I wanted it back. I remember playing this back when the iPhone 3GS was still the latest iPhone. They can see a new you and how much you love the Savior. 0:00 / 3:11 If ye love Me, keep My commandments (Tallis) David James 6.81K subscribers 73K views 15 years ago The beautiful choral piece written by Thomas Tallis is performed here by. And I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever, 'the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. This organic change comes from within and expresses itself outward as the world looks on. Jesus said, 'If you love Me, keep My commandments. But if we will try and live by His word, the more likely we grow together than apart and the more radical change for the better we will find ourselves. 15 If you love me, you will keep my commandments. The greater the distance the less likely we are to change for the better. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. Just as in any relationship the less interaction the greater the distance. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. He saves men, not in sin, but from sin and those who love Him will show their love by obedience. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love. You know him, because he lives with you and will be in you. If ye love me, He says, keep my commandments. Jesus said to his disciples, As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you abide in my love. The world cannot accept him, because it doesn’t see or know him. 16 I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper who will be with you forever. The distance grows as we continue to be disobedient to him. 15 If you love me, you will obey my commandments. It's only when we refuse to obey Him does He seem distant from us. The more we grow to love Him, the easier we find it to obey Him. NASB 1995 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. New American Standard Bible If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. New King James Version If you love Me, keep My commandments. King James Bible If ye love me, keep my commandments. We don't have to look to far from his word, to know that the more we trust Jesus the more we will want to know Him and the more we know him, not just know about him but interact and allow His interaction with us the more we find we love Him. Berean Literal Bible If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. To know Him is to put faith in Him, To put faith in Him is to love Him, and to love Him is to obey Him. Pastor James Merritt from the popular broad cast Touching Lives gave this analogy of what Jesus meant when He said "If you love me keep my commandments"

Submarine 2010 cast7/2/2023 She uses Oliver to make her former boyfriend jealous. Oliver has fantasies about Jordana, another semi-outcast. The story is told in first person by school boy Oliver Tate who spends time daydreaming. After missing the first joke, I added the English subtitles. It’s a great feature debut by Ayoade, who would follow up with the even more ambitious The Double.Reviewed by nogodnomasters 7 / 10 I DECIDED TO LIGHTEN THE BLOW WITH SOME LIGHT ARSON So this “failure” is at least one which springs from artistic decisions, not weaknesses.Īnd talking of artistic decisions, Ayoade’s frequent switch into Oliver’s subjective viewpoint is one of the film’s real pluses, our duffel-coated hero seeing the world as a big French New Wave film in which he is the ineffably cool personification of cultured suaveté – cue zooms, freeze frames, intertitles and all the usual visual clichés – while Arctic Monkey Alex Turner’s Brit-Poppy soundtrack allows Ayoade to hit the pause button and slide sideways into dreamy montages. Some of it is because there’s a deep river of misery running right through the middle of the film – to answer the question, it’s called Submarine because Oliver’s dad is suffering from a terrible debilitating depression, which he describes as like being underwater. Some of that is because Ayoade refuses to let Oliver triumph – if Oliver goes to kick someone in the nuts, that someone will catch his leg on the upswing. Looked at as a whole, Submarine doesn’t quite stitch its many brilliant scenes into the brilliant film it ought to be. Though some medal ought also to be struck for Darren Evans as Chops, a minor character so vivid he could spin off into his own film – half mad, half stupid, a third bully, a third tool, a quarter genius. But it’s the pungency of the characters that orbit Oliver that give Submarine its flavour, Considine in particular as the total self-help cock, a man “burdened by his gift” and making sport with the gullible. We have been here before, if you’ve seen Rushmore then Oliver’s bumptiously intellectual persona will be more than familiar. Coming across as a lewd-whimsical fusion of Napoleon Dynamite and The Inbetweeners (more British TV), Submarine follows a smart, self-obsessed 15-year-old Welsh kid Oliver (Craig Roberts) through various, mostly domestic, travails – his parents’ faltering marriage, the attempts by a shabby local guru (Paddy Considine) to make a move on his mother (Sally Hawkins), his attempts to persuade his girlfriend Jordana (Yasmin Paige) to have sex with him. Why Submarine? After watching this funny yet eventually slash-your-wrists desperate coming-of-ager directed and screen-written by Richard Ayoade (of TV’s The IT Crowd), it’s a question you might well ask. Heading the list of possibles is the theory that the sub was destroyed by a torpedo exploding inside its launch tube, which then flooded the submarine, taking its crew to their deaths. Theories accounting for the submarine’s loss include that a torpedo was accidentally launched which then homed back in on the sub that a torpedo inside the sub exploded that a trash disposal unit malfunctioned, flooding the vessel and that it was attacked by a Soviet submarine. It was located in October, under 3,000m of water, with its hull crushed by the sheer weight of water. Shortly thereafter the submarine disappeared. En route for home, she stopped at the Azores, to observe Soviet naval activities in the area. Scorpion was then deployed in the Mediterranean between February and May 1968, during which time the ship was plagued with mechanical malfunctions. Notably, a weakness in the emergency system was not addressed – the same weakness that had led to the loss of the USS Thresher nuclear submarine in 1963. In early 1967 she was overhauled at her home port of Norfolk Naval Shipyard, though due to a perceived heating up of the Cold War, some corners were cut and some long-overdue work was not carried out. This necessitated a hasty retreat after she was spotted by the Soviet navy. In 1966 she filmed a Soviet missile launch after stealthily having made the “Northern Run” to Novaya Zemlya, a Russian archipelago on the north eastern extremity of Europe. Operating on the US’s eastern seaboard, she mostly took part in patrols of the Atlantic coast as part of the on-going development of Cold War submarine tactics, though she did occasionally operate in European waters. Scorpion had been built in 1958 and had gone into service in 1960. On this day in 1968, a nuclear submarine called the USS Scorpion was lost at sea in mysterious circumstances with 99 crewmen on board. A movie for every day of the year – a good one

Automated bookkeeping7/1/2023 Humans had to enter data in spreadsheets and computerized account books. These early programs didn’t automate anything. Accounting professor Richard Mattesich worked out the principles of spreadsheets in the 1960s, though it would be more than a decade before computer improvements made them practical. In the 1950s, General Electric became the first company to do its payroll on a computer. In the 1800s bookkeepers embraced the mechanical adding machine, the pocket calculator of its day. Given the masses of figures CPAs deal with every day, it’s no surprise that accounting has always been on tech’s cutting edge. If you’ve wondered, “can accounting be automated?” the answer has been “yes” for a long time. By handling tedious, time-consuming tasks, automation frees up accountants to provide financial advice, projections and analysis. That frees up human accountants for higher-level analysis.Īccounting automation software takes over routine accounting tasks from human bookkeepers such as manual data entry, bank statement reconciliation, and financial reports. When you automate accounting with software such as Accounting Seed, routine accounting tasks get done faster and more accurately. In the 21st century, computers and software can do more with numbers than a human ever could, and do it faster. A hundred years ago when someone said “computer,” the word meant a human whose job involved crunching numbers.

This runs the search using the settings defined in this stanza of the configuration file. name Syntax: name= Description: Specify the stanza name of a transaction that is configured in the nf file. memcontrol-options Syntax: | | Description: These options control the memory usage for your transactions. For each client_ip value, a separate transaction is returned for each unique host value for that client_ip. For example, suppose two fields are specified: client_ip and host. The events are grouped into transactions, based on the unique values in the fields. See About transactions in the Search Manual. The values in the eventcount field show the number of events in the transaction. The values in the duration field show the difference between the timestamps for the first and last events in the transaction. Transactions are made up of the raw text (the _raw field) of each member, the time and date fields of the earliest member, as well as the union of all other fields of each member.Īdditionally, the transaction command adds two fields to the raw events, duration and eventcount. The transaction command finds transactions based on events that meet various constraints.

Awa gre7/1/2023 So, how can your point of view be expressed in the essay? Be sure to include it in your thesis statement right away. It doesn’t matter what you think about it in real life-or even if you don’t think about it at all! It’s just important that you choose the side that you can more easily support. That’s how critical it is to write a high-scoring essay that the prompt states clearly that you must express your opinion. You’ll note that the Issue essay’s instructions often ask you to agree or disagree. It’s time to choose a side based on what you wrote in your pro/con statement. Practice making pro/con lists before you can do so in less than a minute. Note, you don’t have a lot of time for brainstorming, so this shouldn’t take long. It doesn’t have to be pretty to be successful! It just needs to be understandable when you go through your notes again. Then pick which side you believe has the most compelling statements. Make a list of statements that either endorse or contradict the prompt in order to do so (pros and cons). One of the most critical aspects of the Issue essay is that you must choose a side. You’ll be asked to discuss a topic mentioned in the prompt and then write an essay agreeing or disagreeing with it in this task. The Issue essay is the first essay you’ll see on any GRE exam. Bear in mind as you work to enhance the quality of your essays that the more high-quality content you provide, the better. You’ll find some sample essays in the essay section of the Official Guide. You are willing to write as much as you want. 3 minutes (if time allows) to write an introductionģ.20 minutes to write your essay’s body paragraphs and examples 2 minutes to proofread for minor errors such as grammatical errors.3 minutes to brainstorm, outline, and write a thesis statement.Take 2 minutes to read the prompt and instructions. To make the most of your GRE test time, we recommend dividing the writing portion as follows: You have a time limit for each section of the GRE, and the AWA is no exception! If you’re like most test-takers, you’ll notice how quickly those 30 minutes pass once you sit down in front of the computer. The second set of guidelines asks you to include clear examples of when the advice holds true or does not hold true. The first set of guidelines asks you to think about potential counter-arguments to your viewpoint. If you do not directly answer the question in your essay, you will receive a lower score. Don’t skim over the instructions they’re essential. In your essay, if you do not directly address what the question is asking, your score will take a hit. Make sure to read the directions do not gloss over them. Read the instructions carefully.Īlmost all test takers believe they have read all of the instructions thoroughly, but in our experience, this is not the case.Įach Issue and Argument prompt has clear instructions that are written in non-italicized letters and follow the prompt. Remember, you don’t need to be an expert in these fields or even have outside knowledge-work on coming up with examples to answer various types of prompts and how to write about unfamiliar topics in a short period of time. It is not worth the time and effort, not to mention the memorization! Instead, concentrate on mastering your approach to various types of topics. However, while reviewing the GRE ETS AWA prompts, make sure you don’t waste time outlining an essay for each one. Before the exam, go to the ETS website to see all of the possible Issue and Argument tasks. If you’ve been studying for the AWA, you’re probably wondering, “What types?” They’re totally random!” However, there is a pattern to GRE prompts! We’ve identified seven types of analytical writing prompts on the GRE, including:īefore taking the official exam, familiarise yourself with the various topic types and practice answering sample questions in these areas to see how you’ll handle different types of questions as they occur. Before we get started, there are a few GRE writing tips for Issue and Argument essays in the GRE analytical writing section that you should be aware of. General GRE Analytical Writing Assessment(AWA) TipsĪlthough the GRE writing segment can seem unpredictably difficult, there are still ways to plan for the essay! We’ll look at each task type (Issue and Argument) separately later. Here are all of the GRE essay tips you’ll need to get the perfect score on the GRE. In this post, we’ll look at some GRE writing tips that can help you improve your Argument essay and Issue task scores. |
